Hael Preview

Well hello, to particularly nobody. I have finished Oblivion, and I'm thinking of doing the second one. But in the meantime, I'm working on a new story, Hael (HAY-el). Here is a preview.

Hael
Skylar Fang

This world is a complex one, it is split into seven different levels. Heaven, Pre-Heaven, Aurora, Surca, the Badlands, the Lowlands, and Hael. The Angels above the Surface, the Hellvards live below the surface, there was a war that has been raging on for more than 1,000 years now, the planet's surface has been demolished by their doings. After the war, both sides formed a pact. They would only fight on Aurora and the Badlands. These layers are all invisible to the human eye, but when the human body becomes a spirit, they will be able to see the layers and other spirits. Some people are gifted and are able to see the spirits and very rarely, the layers. These people have very high spiritual power, able to form sparks from their fingers when they are a mere 13 years old. Some people can gain these powers through defeating a low ranking angel or hellvard, those who manage to defeat a mid ranking or high ranking angel or hellvard are treated like gods when they go to any of the layers except Surca.

Chapter One
"Raine, your late for school for the last time!" Raine's dad knocked down the door, literally. He threw Raine's messanger bag onto Raine's head. "Gah! Dad, why do you have to break my door and throw my bag on my head, dammit." yelled Raine. He sat up and took his bag. He headed out the door, towards his school. "Where do you think you're going?" asked Raine's dad. "Umm, school." replied Raine. His dad laughed, "Do you know what day it is?" he asked. Raine turned on his iPhone, the date read March 9, 2013. "Okay, fine, I'm going to take a stroll in the park, okay?" his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Raine walked to a cafe. The cafe had a bunch of tables scattered in an orderly manner. Each table had 4 seats. Along the wall there were also tables, these tables had 2 large chairs that could fit 2 people, each chair designed like a couch. In the center of the cafe, there were three large tables, each including 8 chairs. On every table there was a multi-face television, one face for every chair. Raine walked over to one of the table propped against the wall. He sat down and ordered some food. "...There have been multiple impacts on the surface, one of them hurtling towards the United Kingdoms, more accurately into the West Midlands. Scientists have been trying to identify these UOHFTS, unidentified object(s) hurtling from the sky.." A picture appeared on the screen of the television. "Here is a picture taken by an ameteur, he perished three hours later due to unknown causes. The UOHFTS is calculated to hit the surface in 5 minutes, people across the whole entire United Kingdom can see the UOHFTS crashing down to the surface." Then, the transmission stopped.
Raine took a bite of his sandwich. Then there was a loud boom. People within the cafe streamed out the door, some of them even crashing through the windows. Raine pushed through people. He raised a hand and kissed his ring.
The ring was a gift from Raine's grandfather in his final years of life. The ring was made from carbonox, a newly discovered metal, and amazingly, it is incredibly stable, the strongest metal in the world. It could scratch a diamond fairly easily. The ring could rearrange the atoms in an object and make it weaker. For example, if the wielder punched a diamond with the ring, the carbon atoms would rearrange to form a weaker substance, graphite. The ring cannot harm the wielder or the people whom they trust, so the ring doesn't touch anything else besides Raine's finger. The ring has a link with the wielder's brain, able to communicate with each other. On the ring are 25 symbols, each of them carved elegantly into the metal. There is also a number on the ring, 7192.
The crowd scattered, the majority of them went towards the crash site. Raine got bumped and shoved from all sides. Finally, he arrived at the crash site. The impact of the object created a huge crater. Some of the surrounding houses collapsed, one of the skyscrapers became the Leaning Tower of Sucra. In the center of the crater, was a small rock. There was a voice inside Raine's head.
Hello young one. The voice was that of a woman. Everything dissolved, there was only the rock and Raine, everything else was white. Raine stared at the rock, about the size of a fist, and glowed like the sun in the sky. It seems that I have found the correct person. Come, touch the stone. Raine hesitated. C'mon, the stone won't hurt you. Raine walked towards the stone. When he touched it, the surface was unexpectedly cool. The glowing from the stone weakened. Then a burst of red light.
